Dussehra is one of the famous festivals of India; that celebrates the victory of good over evil. Dussehra, the word is originating from Sanskrit words where Dush means evil, and Hara means destroying. There are several hues of Dussehra across India.
While Ravana effigies are burnt in part of the country, in the eastern part it marks the killing of Mahisasura – the buffalo demon – by Goddess Durga.
