The Team that created the most unique Preschool/Daycare experience

India’s leading preschool brand, The Learning Curve started its journey in 2011. The idea behind starting The Learning Curve was to provide a world-class, professionally managed childcare option to India’s working parents. Within a short span of time, The Learning Curve has emerged as India’s fastest growing preschool chain, with international teaching methods and curriculum to ensure the right kind of development for children. ProEves team got an opportunity to have a word with one of its founder – Suhas Bedekar. Here is an excerpt from our chat with him.

Tell us about your journey. How and when did you start The Learning Curve & what has been the inspiration?

I have been into education sector for last 20 years, and with preschool/ daycare industry I have spent 12+ years. The Learning Curve was founded with strong foundation from working parents’ perspective like providing food, camera access and international curriculum to parents of young children. We focussed on the concept of full day school supporting parents though their working hours.

What is unique about The Learning Curve?

Being a differentiator in the daycare business was utmost important for The Learning Curve. We, at The Learning Curve believe in providing the working parent complete peace of mind by providing them with LIVE CAMERA ACCESS which enables them to view their child enjoying his day at the daycare. This makes parents less anxious of their child’s safety while they are at work.

We believe in the happiness of having to NOT PACK MULTIPLE TIFFIN BOXES for the child. And hence, every child at The Learning Curve is served freshly cooked, vegetarian meal on board, cooked at our independent, functional kitchens at every centre.

At The Learning Curve, we follow the SINGAPORE CURRICULUM which is a perfect combination of Multiple Intelligence as put by Dr. Howard Gardner and play way method. We believe that every child is born different and grows differently.

Tell us about the team.

The Learning Curve is led by a team of three people with strong roots in their respective fields of Preschool Operations, Finance and Strategy and Marketing and Content.

I started my career into the field of education around 2 decades ago with IIT – Prep and MBA Prep. Preschool happened to around a decade ago after having run a Euro Kids Centre, being the brand manager for Podar Jumbo Kids, expanding their reach across West and South boundaries.

It was 6 years ago that I discussed the idea of bringing world class infrastructure and curriculum to India and have a product commonly called the FULL DAY SCHOOL in Singapore in form of value added daycare to the indian Market to my fast friend Mr. Emron Samuel who then was exploring entrepreneurial venture post his long stint as Head of Sales at Standard Chartered Mutual Funds.  A Chartered Accountant by Qualification, Mr. Emron has always been an authority in the field of Treasury and Mutual Funds. He has worked with the biggies like JM Financial, ANZ Grindlays (later Standard Chartered Mutual Fund) and Tata Mutual Fund to his credit.

As he always states – “Two men into this preschool business would be a disaster”, introduced us to our third partner Ms. Swati Bhatt who had a long nurtured dream of having a preschool that fits every mothers demand for having the best in class education and quality service to their little ones while they were meeting targets at work. With a Post Graduate Degree in Marketing and HR, Ms. Swati has been a successful Trainer and Marketer with Godrej & Boyce before she took a sabbatical to nurture her toddler daughter. Prior to The Learning Curve, Ms. Swati was a Marketing Professional with Kotak Life Insurance. Being a qualified Instructional Designer, Swati successfully coordinates on the Curriculum Development and Teacher Training at The Learning Curve.

Any message to the Working Parents?

We have the best affordable combination of school + daycare and with long hours 12 hours shift as well. We are more than happy to connect with corporates to ensure the working parents get a corporate rebate and benefits, we are the first chain to be POCSO trained staff, and giving ZERO cost monthly payment options. We wish to continue our support to parents in their parenting journey. We wish to make parenting a loving experience for parents.
