With this DIY Calendar make learning meaningful for Preschoolers

This activity provides an opportunity for children to become familiar with the days of the week and the months of the year. Calendars can be easily made at home and provide a great opportunity for learning all kinds of math skills and time management skills from early age.

Aim:  A simple Do It yourself activity to teach the Calendar.

Material Used:

1) Sturdy Cardboard

2) Downloadable Printables

3) Velcro dots

4)  Stickers

How To Execute:

Print and laminated the downloadable printables(these are set of 5 printable files) from

Take the printout of the printables and stick them to the cardboard with the help of glue.

How to describe current month,date and day of the week?

For the concepts(Days of the Week,Months of the year,Dates of the month) we used stickers.

Use the star stickers and ask child to paste in front of the respective printable. (to depict current month ,date and day of the week)

How to describe Seasons ,weather ,time?

For the wheels (Seasons,Weather,Time) we used velcro dots.

Paste the Velcro dots in the center of the circles and paste the arrow on top of it, can be made with paper or felt.

Child can move the arrow (pasted with Velcro dots) as per the season,time,weather.
