How to make sure that your child stays healthy while in a Daycare?

A Healthy Diet
If your child is eating junk food and not meeting his daily nutritional requirements then he will more than likely have a weak immune system. A weak immune system means that every germ that passes by will probably result in your child catching it. However, you as a parent can make sure your child gets plenty of fruits and vegetables and lean meats, little sugar, and very little junk food. Ensuring a healthy diet will keep your child’s body strong and healthy. His immune system will be stronger and he will be able to fight off germs better.

Good Hygiene
You should teach your child the importance of washing his hands on a regular basis. You may even be able to come up with a song or rhyme that helps your child remember the importance of clean hands. Also, teach your child that he should never eat something off the ground, share food with a friend, or drink after someone else. Tell him also that if he sneezes he should sneeze into his hands and then immediately wash them. Teaching your child these basics will help him wash off lots of those sickness causing germs and reduce his chance of getting sick.

Small Daycare
Another option, although not always a very good one, is to send your child to a small daycare. If there are fewer children then there will be fewer germs floating around and your child may stay well longer. However, you need to understand that despite all of your best efforts children get sick and children in daycare get sick more often. It is just part of life, but by kindergarten maybe the entire family will have built up an immunity to most illnesses and be immune!

You should take time to select a good daycare for your child. Here are some things to keep in mind while selecting the daycare.
