Starting from childhood

My childhood has been full of fun with lovely parents, caring sister, friends, celebrations and trips. I started learning Taekwondo since I was in the 4th grade. Today I am a Taekwondo black belt holder and have won gold and silver medals at state level championships

Cooking is my language

After marriage I had to move to US when I was 2.5 month pregnant. My love for cooking started with my pregnancy carving as I missed homemade food and Indian street food. For a few months I had to manage with my minimal cooking skills and then at some point a culinary explosion happened. I discovered my skills in cooking and baking. Then I ventured into world of cooking traditional Indian foods, foods with medicinal values, Indian baby food and pregnancy foods. Recently I surprised my hubby with 31 dishes for his 31st birthday which had all popular recipes from all states of India from Tamilnadu sambar to Kashmir rogan josh and it took 9 hours of continuous cooking. I also baked cake for my hubby who loves biryani. According to me cooking is also an act of love, and a way to show that you care.

A-Z Happy Parenting

Happy parenting A-Z is a page which I started 3 years back which deals with practical tricks on how to raise happy and healthy kids including pregnancy tips and foods, forgotten Indian healthy recipes, month wise baby foods from 6 months to toddlers. This page also provides useful tips on crafts, activities to keep your toddler busy, parenting tips and improve their motor skills. Our traditional Indian food is the most balanced food which includes 7 types of millets ,15+ types of Dal, Lentils, Beans, and Pulses, 40 types of herbs and 25+ types of spices. Traditional foods and methods helped me and my son to secure more immunity and strength. Indian healing traditions and medicinal plants have almost lost its Identity. Hence I use my community as a platform to share tips on healthy food and healthy parenting styles.

Travel and Hiking

During my pregnancy, I traveled all around California from 3rd month to the last day of pregnancy. Went for 2.5 miles hiking when I was 6 months pregnant and managed to reach on top of 11000ft mountain covered with snow. Post pregnancy trips started when my son was 1 month old and his first trip was to Palm Spring at 8000 ft. From then till now me and my hubby along with my 2.5 yrs son have been traveling and hiking. Apart from completely enjoying motherhood my son and my house hold work, I do crafting, blog for my page, knitting, crocheting and design wall decals. My day begins with baking new recipes and learning trendy International dishes and ends with potluck or kitty party with friends and families. I aspire to start a 100% hygienic restaurant exclusive for kids from 0-12 yrs and more events on healthy diets for pregnancy women and kids in India.

I would like to wrap up saying that nobody can predict the future. You have to live in the moment cherish your relationships and give it all. Because when you look back, you will know you gave your best with what you had and you will be so grateful for how far you have come.
