Having your child as your muse – What more could one ask for ?

Meet Krinzal, who has combined artistry and imagination with photography and created captivating photos of her baby using plain common household stuff and created aha moments.

Tell us a bit about yourself? And your passion Mommycreates?

I am a teacher which goes with the fact that I love children. I am told that I am creative in various forms be it photography, painting, rangolis, interior designing etc. I give the credit for this to my Mom who is an artist by hobby.

Mommycreates is my way to weave beautiful memories for my baby and an avenue to pursue my hobby. It is challenging to click photographs which are quite ‘different’ than the usual ones and I enjoy that.

What inspired you to start Mommycreates?

I am an artist by hobby. And I love to ensure that things around me look good. I have painted walls in my home and created few paintings too. I love to paint, colour, scribble – basically ‘create’ as it helps me to unwind.

When I had my baby initially I would miss not being able to explore my hobby. It was then that my husband suggested to blend the pleasure of being with my baby and my creativity which resulted in some wonderful memories for her. In fact the moment she was born we got a good camera and started getting few accessories but never knew the journey would get us this far.

After first few clicks I got the suggestion to create an fb page from one of my mentors at work. My husband, Himanshu suggested the name mommycreates and also to add some verse with each pic.

How do you get your little one to cooperate and pose for the session?

Well it is tough to answer how I get her to cooperate.  The strategy had to be changed with her growing up. And many people ask me about this.

There have been times when I would prepare the whole set with all my mind and energy only to find her not ‘ready’ or still worse destroying the entire setup. I think patience is the best virtue when dealing with babies in anything for that matter.

Initially when she would sleep a lot I would get the ‘set’ ready and once she would sleep I would gently place her so as to ‘pose’ and wait for the best click.

But as time went by, I think she started recognising that her mommy was pursuing something good. It was then that she would instantly start recognising the camera and pose and smile.

Goes without saying that I take about 5-6 clicks and select the best pick. I always avoid using flash as it is not recommended to be used while clicking baby pics.

Do you think this could be a successful venture in the future ?

To be honest my idea was to fulfil my creative potential and have lots of memories for my baby. I am happy that I am able to make it appear beautiful through the lens. But this passion for being creative and ‘different’ photography, has now become an identity for me and gave me the opoportunity to know many great people through this.  Like ProEves 🙂

I have received few queries for my baby to model for baby products. I also get many people asking me to photograph their children professionally.

I think for any hobby to be able to transform into a successful venture, one has to keep innovating and be persistent. I definitely look forward to more ideas, good wishes and support so as to be able grow MommyCreates into a deeper identity for me and my baby – Shanaya.
