Top 2 Toddler DIY Activities to increase patience & concentration

I am Amirtha Jothi, living in Trivandrum. Post graduate in mathematics, home maker, interested in crafting. I love to do DIY activities with my child at home. These are the two of my favorite activities i have done recently.

Activity 1 – Our Golden Fish

My Little one is a fish lover and therefore i decided on fish for this activity.

1. Take paper and draw the fish on plain paper

2. We had lots of yellow color oval shape cutting cards at home, so the kids used them to build the fish body ( you could make your own cuttings using newspaper or any colored paper). The patience , hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills required in gluing the the oval shaped paper was my objective behind this activity.

3. To complete the art, we put the eye and pom poms for bubbles, and colored the outer part in blue. Finally we got golden fish in water.

Activity 2 – Our own book

1. We had loads of stickers at home and few wedding cards

2. We picked up the wedding cards in the shape of book and covered them with paper

3. Then the little ones decided on the theme of the book page ( for e.g. my bedroom)

4. We used the stickers to get the page to look like a bedroom and all that the bedroom has

5. This activity gave us our own book to keep, and also encouraged the kids to develop their fine motor skills and helped build up their imagination
