As a parent, we bond with our children at different stages in different ways. These moments translate into precious memories and a long lasting loving relationship. With so many things to do everyday in the house or if you are working, coping with the office work, you may feel sometime disconnected with your children. In the time crunch world it’s important to be connected with kids so that we can develop a wonderful bond which is everlasting.
Travelling: Go on a drive, enjoy with kids as they observe new things. Connect with them, tell stories about the places you had visited so that they can relate more. Travelling is one of the best way to bond with kids.
Get crafty: Make craft items reusing old household things like paper cup, cotton. Give them the creative push to create something new. Guide them, and have fun while making.
Be crazy: Do something exciting with kids. Be it dancing on loud music of having a race with your kids (on a safer path), play jumping jack on bed, and ride down on grassy lawn anything that can make long lasting memories on the mind of kids and you.
Plan a date: We always plan a date with our partner, so why not do the same with your child. Go for a breakfast date or just for walk talking one to one. Let them lead and get open up with you and talk to you more freely.
Gardening: Gardening can be a learning activity with kids. It will be so much fun harvesting flowers or small tomatoes, mint, coriander and bringing them into our kitchen to make dishes. It’s a wonderful way to teach children about nature, sustainability and as well as a wonderful way to spend quality time together.
Reading: Read with your kids every day for at least 10 minutes no matter what. Since reading with them equals being present with them –the one gift all parents should give their kids.
Although a parent’s role in their children’s learning evolves as kids grow, one thing remains constant: we are our children’s learning models. So, it is important that we spend time with our children.
